About Me

Hi! My name is RaeLynn, and this is my Husband Alex. We have been happily married 27 years.  We have five children, two sons in law, two super adorable grand children, a dog, a cat, six chickens, seven goldfish, and hive of bees.  My Husband probably doesn’t count the dog, cat, chickens, fish, and bees as part of the family, but I do.  I have had the great opportunity of being a full-time mom for those 27 years for which I am truly grateful.  I don’t think I have ever found time to be bored, there are always so many things to do.

Many  years ago I asked my dad to help me with a project I wanted done in my house.   I asked him if it was going to be hard.  He looked at me with a perplexed look on his face as though he didn’t quite know how to answer and said “well it’s just a project.”  I have come to realize that to him nothing is hard or easy it is “just a project.”  It may be a small project or a big project, but it’s “just a project.”  When he was 70 years old he decided he needed to learn Spanish and he tackled it like any other project.  When he was 75 he decided he needed to learn to run a computer so he bought one and went to work on it.  Now he is 92 and his projects continue.  He prunes fruit trees, tills his garden, fixes sprinklers, hangs up Christmas lights and does lots of work on his computer.  To my Dad nothing brings greater satisfaction than a great project, so he is very content.  Our lives are full of projects.  Whether we are building a house, learning a language, creating a good relationship, or conquering a fear we should remember that it is “just a project.”

So now I’m starting a new project.  I’ve never blogged before or even used facebook or pinterest so this is a very big project for me.  I feel super lucky to have a supportive husband and smart kids who can help me out of a fix when I don’t know what I’m doing.  Hopefully as time goes by I will learn something and get a little smarter from doing this project which is really the whole point.
