This chili is so easy that it almost seems silly to do a post about it, but easy is good so here it is.
There’s a couple of things that I do ahead of time and keep in the freezer for whenever I might need them.
- First I cook beans and freeze them. (check my post /http://itsjustaproject.com/no-soak-easy-crockpot-beans/ )
- Second I brown hamburger. I usually get a lot at once and brown it with salt, pepper, chopped bell peppers and onions. Then I divide it into small bags and freeze it. This can be used to speed up lots of different meals.
Now for the chili you need:
- About 2 quarts cooked beans (thawed)
- About 1 cup browned hamburger with onion and green pepper
- One pint bottled or canned diced tomatoes
- About 2 Tbs taco seasoning McCormick Original Taco Seasoning Mix (24 oz.) (pack of 2)“>
Stir this all up together in a pot and bring it to a boil. Turn down the heat and let it simmer 15 minutes. Or you can put all the frozen ingredients into a crock pot for a couple of hours.
There you have it. It’s great with chips, fresh bread, pour it over a baked potato, or one of my favorites is to pour it over a scone with cheese and sour cream.
Pour chili over a baked potato.
Pour it over a hot scone. Yummy!
